RISE Program

Teachers new to the Elko County School District participate in Phase I of the RISE Program (Retaining, Inducting, Supporting, and Encouraging). Participants receive intensive training in the five days prior to the beginning of the regular teacher contract day in August. Program goals include:

• Provide instruction in classroom management and effective teaching techniques;
• Reduce the difficulty of the transition into teaching;
• Maximize the retention rate of highly qualified teachers.
